Kojo Pekels Has Some Questions For MUSIGA

A Concerned Upcoming Ghanaian musician, Kojo Pekels has penned a letter to the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) with further questions about the future of upcoming musicians in the country.

Kojo Pekels, well known for his lyrical prowess has asked MUSIGA what the union is actually doing for the upcoming musicians since most of them are registered and card-bearing members.

He also questioned if MUSIGA as a welfare union has put in system and structures that will improve the lives and successes of its members.

Kojo Pekels biggest concern to MUSIGA seems to be centered on investment.

He wrote;

“Ghana music industry has come a long way and for that matter, MUSIGA as welfare organization championing the course of musicians should be able to attract investors who will come and invest in the industry and musicians.”

“I want to ask the union, particularly, its president, Obour if he has been able to attract investors?

We obtained a copy of the letter, reports that it also conducted interviews with some upcoming musicians and they seemed not happy with MUSIGA.

Most of the upcoming who spoke to Us expressed worry of being neglected by the union though they are registered members.
