Meet the late LCpl Calystus Amoah, the police officer shot dead by armed robbers at Ablekuma

One of the armed robbers quickly moved to the front seat and shot the officer who had no idea what was happening. It was a sad day for the young officer who had been stationed to provide security for a bullion van. He was on the front seat of the van with his service gun, the driver on the other hand was parking well to receive cash from the filling station when the armed robbers attacked.

The late officer’s name has been given as Lance Corporal Calystus Amoah. His picture has been circulating on social media.

His house is also filled with tears, grief and sorrows as family members are currently mourning his passing. Many have gathered at his residence to extend their condolences to the family.

His friends in the service and other relatives have spoken well of the officer and indicated that he was a hardworking and humble man. They are at a loss on why he could die in such a sad manner.

In the meantime the debate of the quality of bullion vans engaged by the banks to transfer cash has once again popped – up. The Bullion vans association have indicated that a directive of proper bullion vans to transfer cash will start working next month (July 1).
