Cardi B went on to retweet a statement from the venue and show promoter that reiterated the show’s postponement. The lineup also included rappers Kevin Gates and Cardi’s “Quality Control” teammate Saweetie.

Cardi continued her explanation to fans in an Instagram caption. “I’m so sorry guys I never dealt with a situation like this before and I’m not taking any chances. I love you guys,” she said in a now deleted tweet. The show was rescheduled for Wednesday, September 11, and the venue promised to honor all original ticket purchases.
On Wednesday morning, Indianapolis radio personality, The Mister Marcus, questioned the validity of the threat on Twitter. He claimed that he heard Cardi was too drunk to perform and there was no impending danger. But the rap star quickly responded saying she was getting her makeup done when she heard about the threat. She even recorded a video that she refrained from posting in real-time due to the investigation.
“There still a federal investigation going on.Yes everybody could have got check but who know if a suspect was waiting outside or who he wanted to target. I’m from the hood Inever been a situation like that so I will avoided NIKKA IM A MOTHER MY SAFETY COME FIRST!,” she wrote in another tweet that has since been deleted.
She continued to defend her decision to cancel the show saying she would never waste time and money for no legit reason.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper has had a busy week balancing show dates and political projects. On Monday Bardi shot a video with U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, discussing his run for president in the 2020 election, after collecting questions from her fans. The pair said they hoped to involve more youth in the political process.
