Cardi B Interviews Joe Biden About COVID-19, Police Brutality and More

Cardi B is known for being outspoken about Politics. Just last year, at The TEN Nail Bar in Detroit , Michigan, the rapper sat down with Bernie Sanders to film a video on his Policies. This time, Cardi B talked with the Democratic Party’s official nominee for president Joe Biden via Zoom on the issues the nation is grappling with today, such as the coronavirus pandemic, racial injustice and more.

“Tell me, what is your main interest, in terms of this election?” Biden asks Cardi B. “I have a whole list of things that I want…” she replies. “First, I just want Trump out. His mouth gets us in trouble so much.” She then explained that she wants a president that will tell the truth when it comes to COVID-19 and can outline the steps for safety. “I need someone to tell me the truth, the hardcore truth,” she says. Her list also includes free Medicare, free college education and for “Black people to stop getting killed… I want stricter laws that are fair to Black citizens.”

Biden responded by talking about the importance of voting, in previous and this year’s elections. “No reason we can’t have all that,” Biden continues. “Presidents have to take responsibility. I understand one of your favorite presidents is Franklin Roosevelt. Roosevelt said the American people can take anything if you tell them the truth.” He adds, “One of the things that I admire about you is that you keep talking about what I call equity — decency, fairness, and treating people with respect.”
