Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has continued to keep his performances for the club at an unimaginably high level and has today added yet another accolade to his growing collection.
Accompanied by his wife and son, Thiago, Messi was at the Antiga Fabrica Damm in Barcelona where he was presented with the Golden shoe.
Messi won the Golden Shoe for his goal haul of 37 goals in 34 La Liga games in the 2016/17 season.
It is the second consecutive time a Barcelona player has picked up the award with Luis Suarez winning it for the 2015/16 season.
The Uruguayan was present at the ceremony and presented Messi with the award.
βI have improved and built different aspects to my play,β Messi said.
βI am continually enjoying more, being a footballer.β
Other Barcelona players at the ceremony were Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets. Barcelona presidetn Josep Maria Bartomeu was also in attendance as well as other top directors.
