Tanzanian music is known as Bongo Flava. Bongo Flava emerged in the 1990s as a hybrid of American hip hop and traditional Tanzanian styles including taarab and dansi, with additional influences such as reggae, R&B, and afro beats, resulting in a unique musical style.
