UEFA Permit Away Fans To Return For European Fixtures
Fans To Return To Champions League, Europa League & International Matches – UEFA Confirms. On Monday night, UEFA announced that limitations on away fans attending continental competition matches had been abolished.
It comes after a lengthy workshop between European football’s governing body and all clubs competing in its leagues.
As a result, a ticket quota of close to 5% of the stadium’s capacity will now be available for visiting fans in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League as well as international fixtures, when those resume.
That was the previous permitted attendance for away fans prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tickets, on the other hand, will only be sold in accordance with official government criteria for countries attempting to contain the epidemic.
As a result, fixtures will be evaluated on a game-by-game basis in accordance with local criteria, beginning next week.
In addition, players who have been double vaccinated and/or have recovered from COVID-19 will no longer have to go through pre-match testing requirements, again depend on local regulations.
Uefa confirm away fans can return to stadiums from 10 September – so from start of European competition and next round of international qualifiers.
