Seriously, I think we are not angry enough as citizens of this country. We seem not to really care that much about disturbing happenings, unless offcourse it affects us or someone close to us. But what we fail to appreciate is that, once it has happened to someone else, it could happen to us as well.

We were in this country, when Madam Tiwaa, CID boss told us that, her outfit has received intel of the whereabouts of the kidnapped Taadi girls. Later she came back, claiming it was only meant to give hope to the families of the kidnapped girls. It’s been months, but it seems the only straw families of these girls can clutch at, remains hope. Hopeless hope.

To live with the reality that, Madam Tiwaa is still at post despite all the “nkwasiasem” she has exhibited is something I am struggling to come to terms with. Coupled with the fact that, some Canadians who were kidnapped less than a week ago have been rescued this morning, opens the door ajar for more questions to be asked of the security set up in this Republic.

I am very saddened this morning. These Taadi girls could have been my sisters. It could even have been me.

Let’s rise and demand from people we put in positions of authority. We may not have the power of the fist(which is not even needed though) but we have our fingers and tongues. Let’s write and speak until the authorities listen. One may say, “we have spoken and written all these while, but yet they listen not”. However, I don’t think we can claim to have pushed them enough, when the ills still persist. Until the canker is resolved, we have to keep the charge.

It is long overdue. Heads must and should roll. CID boss, IGP, Min for National Security, Min of Interior etc must bring back the girls now or be shown the exit.
